Supply Backup Power Mode |
Supply Backup Power Mode models the loss of mains supply power at a certain time in the cycle [Time of Power Loss] for a specified duration [Power Loss Duration]. Backup Power Mode is possible when there is an Energy Storage Solution, Kinetic Buffer Axis, or other component in the power group that can provide backup power to the bus when the mains supply power is lost. Use this feature to size the backup power capacity to allow for a cycle to complete, and/or to define a controlled safe ramp down sequence of the power group when the mains supply power is lost.
In Backup Power Mode when the Mains Supply is lost, control power must be provided for the control system to function. The control power (typically 24Vdc) must come from an external source such as an external battery backup (UPS), or the DC Bus. |

Specify the inputs Time of Power Loss and Power Loss Duration. When an input is changed, the form automatically switches to Backup Power mode. Note the green background in the chart showing the time window of power loss. |
|
When there is insufficent backup power, the 'Insufficient Backup power at' time is displayed, showing exactly when backup power runs out. To address insufficent backup power, add more backup storage capacity and/or decrease the power loss duration. Note the red background in the chart showing the time window when there is insufficient back power. |
